10 Things Fans Will Love (And Hate) About Mass Effect Andromeda
5. Love: The GORGEOUS Landscapes & Environments
One thing Andromeda absolutely knocks it out the park on are the environments. Whilst the layout of these worlds never allows for the expansive draw distance of something like Breath of the Wild, there's a sense of detail and atmospheric density that provides a huge amount of variety to each and every landscape.
Contrasted against No Man's Sky - which derived beauty from the random computations of its forever-improvising algorithms - every world in Andromeda was hand-crafted, purpose-built and peppered with quests for you to find and complete.
You need to have an exploration bone in your body to want to do these things, but dive into anything from the frozen tundra of Heleus to the floating rock formations on Aya, and you'll come away with a phenomenal sense of place - one that begs you to spend hours uncovering each individual component.
