Burn Cards are Titanfall's way of introducing perks but without sounding like they're just copying Call of Duty. Once you hit level 7, you'll begin to pick these up: they can only be used once, but will provide you with a number of useful abilities, ranging from a longer cloak, double XP, the ability to respawn exactly where you die, and so on. These cards have to be selected before respawning, and you generally want to play things a little cautiously, or you risk being killed before you've been able to take full advantage of the card. Smartly, the system differentiates itself nicely from Call of Duty's perks system, as gameplay is constantly being changed up with how quickly these cards are fielded out and lost. It's frustrating when you quickly die after getting an awesome burn card, like unlimited grenades, but as they say, that's the luck of the draw.
