9. Don't Ever Outsource - Pokémon Dash

Given that Sun & Moon will be main series games and that they are now well into their final development stages, one would sincerely hope that this point be redundant. However, given the unmitigated atrocity that was Pokémon Dash, it's imperative that all future instalments to the Pokémon series heed a very important lesson from their own history.

At no stage should any part of the development of a Pokémon game be outsourced to another studio again. Since Ambrella were responsible for creating the disaster that was Pokémon Dash, it became painfully obvious that no-one else is well-placed enough to do justice to the franchise.

Pokémon games in the main series are traditionally dealt with in-house, of course, so again we have to hope that this is an unnecessary concern. Still, while Pokémon Dash exists in the memory, we'd all be fools not to consider the warning that its dreadful existence provides us...
