10 Things Nintendo’s Best Video Games Can Teach Pokémon Sun & Moon
5. Give Players More Creative Licence - Animal Crossing
Players were finally given the opportunity to customise their protagonist when the series first hit 3DS devices with Pokémon X & Y, but sadly that hasn't completely scratched the creative itch. A good start has been made, but further customisation options need to follow with the new generation.
Animal Crossing represents the perfect inspiration for this, with the approach that's taken to character creation being perfect for a Pokémon game. In the Animal Crossing games, players are asked a series of questions as they begin the game and the answers are the influence for what their character will look like. From there customisation remains prominent, with all manner of items and extras being designed through player input.
More of this in the Pokémon series is a must, allowing players to take a more unique handle on their character from the first moments. Building on the likes of Secret Bases would also be a nice touch, and how about letting players design a custom Poké Ball for their favourite Pokémon in the game?
Lord knows my Litten is going to need something suitably awesome to house it!
