10 Things Nobody Wants To Admit About Dark Souls 3

2. It Was Rushed

Dark Souls 3
From Software

As I alluded to previously, it Is obvious that a lot of the game feels rushed and there is a whole load of little problems embedded in the game. Of course, you have your small graphical glitches that are to be ultimately expected in any game, but there are inherent mechanics that are overlooked in a rush to get the game out.

Bosses with unfair moves that literally have no wind-up and hit you instantly. (Pontiff Sulyvahn for one.) Bonfires that are completely made null and void by bosses dropping their own bonfires. Areas that feel like they are missing and others that seem tacked on in places and feel like they have been designed separately with no clear drive beyond the fact that they should exist.

The Profaned Capital is one of the most unique locations in the game and an area that was in desperate need of more, instead of a cookie-cutter gimmick boss. The whole game feels like its missing the content and polish that would come from a month of added development. And when you look at all the cut content that is sitting in the game files, ready to be used, you must wonder if FromSoftware wanted more time as well. And while the original was rushed in places, the game felt like a whole, even with the rushed content.

The recent DLC, feels less like added content and more like content that was chopped off from the game and thrown in as DLC in a vain attempt for money, which is a shame coming from a developer that is known for high quality DLC practices.

For as good as the game is, It needed more time to be refined. Maybe then it would have been better than the original. Maybe…
