10 Things Only Battlefield Players Will Understand

6. THAT Gun

Battlefield Medic 1
EA

No matter the specific entry, every Battlefield game has THAT gun. The gun everyone hates to get killed by, and that inevitably 90% of the playerbase uses.

Usually, the offending firearm in question is immediately branded as “OP” and “Broken” by the community, who then proceed to use it regardless, simultaneously screaming “FIX IT DICE!” into the uncaring internet void.

Battlefield V had the Type 2A, Battlefield Hardline had the MPX, and Battlefield 3 had, well, a lot of guns, actually.

Series veterans may even have fond memories of entering player rented servers, only to be smacked with a “N0 SHOTGuNS!” warning, usually misspelt, and plastered across every loading screen like a petulant Health and Safety anouncement. The sound of furious, childish screams mixed with the echoing boom of a USAS-12 was almost worth the annoyance of getting immediately permabanned.

Thankfully though, DICE knows their stuff, and most guns end up being tweaked and patched, sometimes too much, in which case THAT gun becomes that gun. You know, the one that used to be good, but now’s about as much use as a medic without a revive kit.
