10 Things Pokémon Sun & Moon Must Fix From X & Y

7. Ditch The Skates And Stick With Running Shoes

Different movement methods have been available in Pokémon games since the bicycle of the very first generation. In the sixth generation, we were introduced to roller skates on top of the running shoes and an accessible bike to give player movement more variety than ever .

The skates were a fun addition in X & Y... for about thirty seconds. After that they became a complete annoyance as they were pinned to the 3DS' small analog stick; if you wanted to walk or run you had to stick with the D-pad, which felt like a step backward compared to the smoothness of the stick's movements.

While I can imagine everybody will have loathed the skates - and I do admit this is a minor complaint - it's not worth revisiting them again. Counting player steps with the skates was nigh-on impossible, meaning mechanics like egg hatching or poison tallying became immensely difficult. Stick with the running shoes and let players use the device's analog stick for all movements in Sun & Moon.
