10 Things Pokémon Sun & Moon Must Fix From X & Y

6. Let Us Play Champion Or Gym Leader In The Post-Game

The first major accolade that every Pokémon player will achieve will be gathering all eight Gym badges and defeating the Elite Four and their reigning champion. After being inducted into the Hall of Fame, however, things tend to fall a bit flat in the post-game play.

Save for a few external challenges and trying to fill the Pokédex with all of the elusive little buggers, there simply feels like there's nothing to keep battling for. If players could face a weekly, randomised challenger as the champ - or even as a Gym leader - it would keep single player content competitive for longer. Losing to one of these could even force you back through a reinvigorated Elite Four as you attempt to reclaim the crown.

Some of you may know that I've asked for this in a Pokémon feature previously, but it remains as something I firmly believe would boost the longevity of the main games.

After all, have you ever really felt like the champion once the dust has settled in the Hall of Fame? There could be prizes for win-streaks as the champ, and I'm not just talking about the inflated ego that would inevitably come with dominating the region!
