10 Things That Make Playing The Sims So Fiendishly Enjoyable

5. Simlish And Social Options

Screen Shot 2013 10 01 At 14 29 13 Fay boga! Cheesy Nick! Grushna! Grushna! Harbendy glarbendes! These are just some of the profundities my Sims have spouted over the years. Simlish, the language the Sims speak, is actually quite pleasing to the ear and it is much better having Simlish than hearing them yak away in English, or another language, with horrible regional accents. Simlish may sound like complete gibberish, but I'm sure if we studied it closer, we would find out complicated grammar rules and a high degree of sophistication in the language... Well maybe I'm being a bit fanciful but I do find Simlish strangely soothing. Sool! Sool! Speaking of Simlish, Sims love talking to fellow Sims, and they can be quite morose and sad if they are deprived of social interaction. That interaction can range from a simple 'Talk' option (which I have found to be the best relationship building tool in many Sim games) up to 'Break Dance' (your Sim will bust a few moves), 'Give Noogie' and 'Pull My Finger' (the old fart joke). The best social interaction I ever came across in The Sims was in Bustin' Out - the Moonwalk option. It has to be seen to be appreciated. Of course they put in lots of things that will make the other Sims hate you - like 'Brag About Money', 'Gossip' and 'Nag'. These can be really good fun if you are in an antagonistic frame of mind while playing the game. Even funnier is to make romantic relationships with a couple of Sims then 'French Kiss' one of your lovers in front of the other. The offended, left out Sim will slap your co-kissee's face!
