4. Careers
If you are stuck in a humdrum job, or unemployed (which is likely if you are playing The Sims all day), you can live your career dreams vicariously through your Sim. In the past, I have had Sims who are mad scientists, star athletes, mayors of their town, famous actors - even Yoga gurus. There is a lot of variety in choosing your Sim's career path. Too bad that in most Sim games you cannot follow them into the workplace (unless you get the expansion pack The Sims: Ambitions) to see what they get up to. They are whisked away at the beginning of the work day and then deposited back a few hours later bringing home some sweet sweet Simoleons. Whether they are the victims of sexual harassment or work place bullying we shall never know..
