10 Things That Prove EA Have Completely Lost Their Way

3. Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass

Season passes are a dangerous gamble for consumers because you're essentially purchasing content that doesn't even exist yet. Despite this, sometimes season passes can be pretty good. Star Wars Battlefront was an example of where they can be catastrophic.

That's not to say that the content offered in the season pass wasn't worthwhile, with awesome locations, characters and features being added to the game in these DLC packs. The problem came from the fact that all of this content really should have been in the original launch.

When Star Wars Battlefront launched it lacked many different features and essentially felt like an empty experience because of the lack of content. Rather than rush the release, EA should have kept DICE working on the game until all of the DLC content was finished and launched them as one complete experience.

Essentially, if you wanted the complete Star Wars Battlefront experience, you had to pay almost double the amount of the base game on its own. EA never truly got the backlash they deserved for this, although here's hoping that that changes with all of the controversy surrounding the sequel.
