10 Things The Nintendo NX Must Do To Be Successful

4. Revamp Online/Social Features

In today's games industry, where you're required to pay annual or monthly subscription fees to enjoy all of the facets of a console's online services, you could say that Nintendo offering all of their alternatives for free is rather admirable. It certainly is, but there's an obvious reason why that's the case - it lacks many of the furnishings offered by Xbox Live or PlayStation Network.

I get that Nintendo wants to maintain their family-friendly image of their products being a safe place for children to spend their time - that's fine - but that can't be used as a justification for the lack of social features.

Games like Splatoon (the archetypal game that would benefit from voice chat) purposely omitted the feature for fear of a 'negative' atmosphere. If these sorts of decisions will continue to be made, there needs to be an alternative that non-minors can opt to use.

Oh, and while you're at it, please give us a party chat system along with a headset.
