10 Things The Nintendo NX Must Do To Be Successful

5. Have Backwards Compatibility With Wii U Games

At this point, it's no secret that the Wii U has struggled to gain a foothold in the console market: sales figures and a sparse release schedule just emphasise that fact rather than prove it.

Which is a shame, because almost all of the few games that actually make their way to retail are worth playing. Xenoblade Chronicles X, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3 and Super Mario Maker are all Wii U exclusives that deserved to be played by the masses, but so far haven't, simply because the existing install base is so small.

It's for that very reason that the NX must be backwards compatible. Nobody can blame the consumer for not wanting to fork over the cash for a console that's already at death's door, but leaving such incredibly well-designed games to die with it would be a damn shame.
