10 Things WWE 2K21's REAL Replacement Needs To Fix
2. Long Term Support
Look, obviously WWE and 2K look to make money out of a yearly release cycle, and a large part of this is making fans who are thinking about buying the game want to be able to have access to the most up to date wrestlers and arenas possible.
However, given the extremely fast pace that WWE moves, these games are generally outdated just months after their release. Sometimes, characters are even outdated upon the release of the game. The look of SmackDown and Raw was completely revamped last autumn, and WWE 2K20 is unable to reflect this is any way.
This is the nature of modern day WWE, and 2K need to adapt to that. Not only does the current approach fly in the face of fans who have stumped up the money to buy the game, but it also makes buying the game a few months after it comes out seem like a fruitless endeavour, since it is already not in line with the current product.
Games-as-a-service is no longer the dirty word it once was. Gamers want a product that constantly evolves and feels fresh, and the WWE 2K series needs to accept that.
