7. In-Game Store Gives Players Something To Work Toward
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agRCA4gPSTA Any successful video game requires its players to work toward unlocking more characters and other elements of the game instead of making them available right from the start; it's what makes the game fun. In addition to unlocking characters through in-game challenges, some games have their very own in-game shop where players earn currency in some fashion and spend it on new characters and other things. While older WWE games, such as No Mercy, had this feature, most of the newer games, such as WWE 2K15, do not. There's a wide variety of wrestlers, arenas and alternate attires that can be purchased in the SmackDown! Mall, only available in No Mercy. After you beat each championship mode, you can use the money you earned to make purchases, giving the players more to work toward than just completing the story mode. Furthermore, you don't have to pay an obscene amount of money (actual money, not in-game currency) to purchase the extras the game had to offer. Thankfully for us fans, downloadable content was not around when No Mercy first came out.
