10 Things You Didn't Know About Super Mario Odyssey

9. Mario's Moon Celebrations

Another nice touch which serves to showcase the love and attention to detail Nintendo pour into their creations, you might have noticed Mario performing a cycle of different celebrations while nabbing those nifty Power Moons.

After grabbing a Power Moon, Mario gives us a little celebration dance as per his previous 3D outings. But instead of inventing all-new celebrations, Nintendo took another punt at tagging on our nostalgic heartstrings by referencing the plumber's last adventures while showing off his shiny collectable.

After finding a Moon, Mario either throws his fist in the air, as he did in the Galaxy titles; presents it with an open palm, as per Sunshine; or, most iconically, shows off his famous peace sign as first seen in Super Mario 64.

This decision was a nice little touch which made finding the collectable even more rewarding. Thanks, Nintendo.
