10 Things You Didn't Know About Wolfenstein

4. A Return To Wolfenstein 3D

As we've seen with the inclusion of aspects such as the "Mein Leben!" quote, modern-Wolfenstein releases love a throwback. Wolfenstein: The New Order provides players with perhaps the biggest of all, the chance to play the opening two missions of Wolfenstein 3d.

To access this hidden bit of gameplay, look for some artwork of the 1992 release. Located on a wall inside the headquarters of those resisting the Nazi rule, imagery from the classic game lies above a mattress on an upper level.

Sleeping on the bed will cause Blazkowicz to have a nightmare, leading the player back into the 20th century to experience the title's opening couple of levels. The charming trip down memory lane even features New Order weaponry.

Once you get past the initial scepticism that's bound to arise when seeing an enter a 'nightmare' option on an old mattress (doesn't sound like an ideal place to lay...), what lies beyond provides a return to some gamers' childhoods and provides teen players the chance to experience the classic feel of an old video game, that simply can't be beaten.
