1. A Worthwhile Single-Player RTS

Not to discount the multiplayer options on offer, but in the face of a genre steeped in well-known online entries like Starcraft, it's refreshing to see so much time and effort invested in creating an outstanding single-player.

Gameplay-wise, the various missions will naturally prepare you for tackling other players online, but we've also got the continuation of the Spirit of Fire crew's story, the introduction of the menacing Atriox, some stunning cutscenes animated by Blur, and all the standard production trimmings of a Halo game.

It's definitely a solid departure from the style of gameplay we tend to associate with the franchise, but by holding off on a sequel until just the right developer came around to do it justice, that's precisely why Halo Wars 2 has so much to offer.
