10 Things You Should Know About Dating A Gamer
8. Our Clothing Might Embarrass You
Here's one thing you really have to embrace if you're going to date a gamer, and that's the clothing codes. Don't expect them to be wearing the newest D&C shirts and expensive jeans; the stereotype is that they're not very fashion-conscious, but that's not really true. It's more that they have their own geek fashion which, quite typically, they are unabashedly proud of, wearing video game shirts, wallets, bags and accessories, and they won't take it lightly if you decide to tease them about it.
Granted, some of the more socially-aware geeks out there are going to tone down their attire a little around their partner, but hardcore gamers? Not a chance. The likelihood is that if you find it embarrassing, it's probably a doomed relationship anyway, and if you think it's adorable, then you just might make it.
If you can get into the spirit of cosplay as well - guys can dress up as Solid Snake for their girlfriends, girls can dress up as Tifa Lockheart? - then you're doing it right.
