Forgive the cliché but peanut butter and jelly is an example of two things that should not go together, although they're great despite that. Plants and Zombies don't seem to be a great matchup on paper but with casual gaming masterminds PopCap at the helm, Plants Vs. Zombies became an utterly addictive blast. You're tasked to defend your house as it comes under attack from zombies, although your faithful old shotgun must be elsewhere as you have to rely on plants for fortification. Luckily, zombies seem to have a secret weakness to peas. A tower-defence game, Plants Vs. Zombies sees you collecting miniature suns and using their solar energy to grow a plant army, capable of destroying the zombie horde heading for home. It's amazingly in-depth too with plenty of strategies to develop, thanks to the huge cast of plants at your disposal all of them proving more useful at different times (mushrooms, for example, are a necessity on the night-time levels). Plus, they're all cutesy and colourful so you can't help but love them. Just remember, in case of an actual zombie apocalypse, your local garden centre will now double as a nearby armoury.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
