10 Time-Consuming Video Games Nobody Ever Finished

1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

With many players reporting over a thousand hours clocked up for this game and many still playing it despite the generation gap, there's no doubt that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the most time-consuming game of all time.

For a start, the sheer density of the land of Skyrim is more than enough reason to keep the game's players coming back time after time. Even after clocking week after week into the game you'll still find brand new locations and hidden areas to explore. The treasures inside can be plentiful, and the promise that there could be more still to find is endlessly enticing.

But even aside from the geography of Skyrim, the game itself is so organically playable that hours can be eaten up with unfathomable ease. Finding you've sunk five hours or more into the game in one sitting is always a surprise, but at no stage is it ever a bad one. Skyrim's addiction is one that always sneaks up on you, but it's not likely you'll ever want to be cured of this.

The imminent arrival of a remastered version of this game, set to include all DLC expansions as well as the original, could spell the end for many a social life this festive season!
