10 Times Final Fantasy 7 Remake Made Our Jaw Drop
4. The Sector 6 Mechanical Hands
As you progress through FF7 Remake you come across places you’ll recognise from the original game. Whether it’s the Seventh Heaven bar or Aerith’s house, every location in the game maintains key details from the original that help you to piece the memories back together while you play. It really is extremely satisfying.
But perhaps the most satisfying moment is when Cloud and Aerith are traversing the ruins of the Sector 6 slums on their way to Wall Market, and you come across a giant mechanical hand that you can use to carry Aerith to otherwise unreachable areas so you can progress through the rubble.
While these hands play a much less prominent role in the original game, there is in fact one present in the Sector 6 slums, and you can even walk on it. The fact the developers saw fit to keep this detail in the game was enough to make our jaw drop. It’s all too much.
Moments like this add so much to the overall experience of FF7 Remake. Even such an obscure reference as this sparks a rush of memories that heightens the emotion of it all.
