10 Times Just Not Giving A F**K Gave Us Great Video Games

1. Saints Row IV

Where do you even begin with Saints Row? The series started life as a GTA clone (to put it bluntly) but started to gain it's own personality with Saints Row 2; it still borrowed heavily from Grand Theft Auto but it had a lot more fun with the formula. Then Saints Row The Third happened and everything went crazy. All the fun of the second game got amplified and the whole game is basically a series of over-the-top events. Volition then topped themselves with Saints Row IV; a game that sees your character become President of the United States, before being abducted by aliens and placed in a virtual simulation. Think that's a bizarre introduction? Just wait until you hear the rest. Your character uses the simulation to develop superpowers, literally turning into a combination of the Hulk and the Flash. It renders cars and weapons obsolete but you'll never feel more awesome in a video game. It's like the development staff sat around and collected every single insane idea they could think of and threw it into the game. One of the opening scenes has the player character climbing a nuke to Aerosmith's "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing"... We could throw more examples of just how insanely fun this game is but you know what? Go play it for yourself. Saints Row IV massively benefited from the development team running rampant with their imaginations; we can't wait to see what they do with the fifth instalment. Agree? Disagree? Are there other examples of games which benefited from development teams who weren't afraid to mess about? Let us know in the comments below.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
