10 Times Just Not Giving A F**K Gave Us Great Video Games

10. Resident Evil 4

This might seem like an odd game to include but Capcom threw caution to the wind when making Resident Evil 4 in a lot of ways. The decision to radically change the series into a third-person, over-the-shoulder action game could have ruined the game's atmosphere. Replacing the zombies with infested villagers could have made the game less terrifying. Adding in psychological elements and ridiculous enemies could have destroyed the series' realistic feel. Capcom gambled with Resident Evil 4 and they came out with the jackpot. Does Resident Evil 4 kill the survival horror genre? Absolutely not. Putting a greater focus on the player's reflexes and acute aim, as well as changing the camera so the danger is more immediate, makes the game absolutely terrifying when multiple villagers are baring down on you. Is it really essential for the enemies in Resident Evil to be classified as zombies? Some may disagree but Resident Evil 4 got by perfectly fine without a single mention of the Z-word. There's even more examples of ways in which Capcom allowed creativity to flow into Resident Evil: A minecart ride which sees you ducking and diving through waves of enemies; the El Gigante fights; the bloody death scenes which accompany Leon's tangle with the chainsaw wielding Ganados. It's not the most ridiculous game out there but Capcom put their foot down with Resident Evil 4 and created a game that could have ruined the series. In actual fact, Resident Evil 4 is quite possibly the peak of the series.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
