10 Times Just Not Giving A F**K Gave Us Great Video Games

9. God Hand

It really is a shame that God Hand didn't perform as well as Capcom might have expected. It serves as an example of how review scores can end up hurting a game; with fewer people championing it, sales targets aren't met and developers turn their attention to more profitable ventures. God Hand was met with some pretty horrific review scores when it came out (IGN infamously gave it a 3/10, despite later ranking it in a Top 100 PS2 Games list) but many saw through the flaws and found a game that was refreshingly unique. The game was apparently designed with hardcore gamers in mind and that shows; the combo system is complex yet rewarding with an emphasis on dodging and adding variety to movesets with over one hundred moves available. The highlight though was the God Reel moves which allowed Gene to boot his enemies into the stratosphere for massively satisfying effect. Even without the super moves, God Hand is an exciting and satisfying game, serving as proof that beat 'em ups can work in a 3D environment. It's a genuine rush to play this game and sadly, like most genius ideas, it wasn't appreciated enough when it first arrived. A real pity.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
