10 Times Video Game Critics Got It Wrong

2. Star Wars Battlefront II

Even the mention of Star Wars Battlefront II is sure to ruffle a few feathers, and rightly so.

Not only did Battlefront II screw up improving upon the game in any meaningful way, it also managed to cause a worldwide controversy that might have changed how microtransactions are done forever. Sales were massively down from the last game and it seemed like the game topped more "Worst Games Of 2017" lists than any other that year.

So how did one of the most hated games of our generation score with critics? Surprisingly well.

Battlefront II managed to get reviews that most games would only dream of. Although the game isn't as bad as it could be, the problems that it does have far overshadow any of the good that it does.

The fact that governments had to get involved over how egregious the lootboxes were should really say it all. Critics really got this one wrong.
