10 Times Video Game Heroes Messed With Time Travel
3. Timesplitters 2
You may not have played the main campaign of Timesplitters 2 as the arcade mode got you straight into the action, and multiplayer games with your friends and a multi-tap attachment dominated living rooms during the early 2000s.
However, the single player campaign brings the whole experience together.
As an agent from the distant future, you must jump through time to stop the Timesplitters and recover the time crystals. Since getting the time crystals is the main objective, nabbing them will cause the Timesplitters to chase after you. They want time to remain altered for the survival of their species, but at the cost of the human race.
These agents are right to be worried about creating a paradox, so they disguise themselves by turning into era-appropriate characters.
One level sees the agent transform into a covert spy that uncovers biologically created zombies in a Russian base, while another has a bounty hunter take on a gang of thugs during the wild west days. It's an exhilarating romp through the ages, even if the heroes' time manipulation capabilities are limited to costume changes.
