5. Skipping Story Quests - The Witcher 3
The main story line of The Witcher 3 is mostly linear, which is why you likely didn't do any of its major beats out of order.
And yet, it's entirely possible. Not only that, the developers make note of your un-chronological playthrough with special voice lines and changes in the narrative.
When you play Witcher 3 the conventional way, you're supposed to search for Ciri in Velen first before joining Yennefer in her investigation of Skellige. The Skellige questline even has a higher level requirement to discourage you from traveling there first, but if you don't mind fighting overpowered bandits, you can visit the region as soon as you finish questing in White Orchard, right near the beginning.
This skip will result in an altered dialogue between Yen and Geralt at the start of the questline, where The White Wolf explains he came earlier because he missed Yennefer too much.
The best part is that this isn't limited to main-story quests only. You can also get a similar result when you hunt the Ice Giant before being given the quest for it, or come across a particular succubus-related liar before starting your investigation on her.
CDPR's quest designers really knew what they were doing.
