10 Times You Came Back From The Dead To Kick Ass In Video Games

9. Markus - Detroit: Become Human

Wolfenstein II The New Colossus
Sony

One of Detroit: Become Human's three playable characters is Markus, a caretaker android whose consciousness is awakened over the course of the game, setting him on a path to become an android revolutionary (depending on your choices, that is).

But a fixed sequence earlier in the game causes Markus to end up shot by the police while caring for his friend Carl. For a moment, players would be forgiven for assuming they'd made the wrong choice and afforded Markus a premature permadeath.

However, Markus is then shown waking up in a junkyard that better resembles an android graveyard, with severe damage to the entirety of his unit. He's then forced to re-assemble himself from the detritus scattered around said junkyard.

And no matter whether Markus survives the game or not, he's set on a righteous path for the remainder to secure his fellow androids their freedom, leading a revolution against humanity that's both thoroughly silly and totally awesome.
