10 Times You HATED Yourself For Buying A Video Game

7. Mass Effect: Andromeda

There's no denying that Mass Effect 3 left a sour taste in the mouths of most fans, as after promising players that their choices throughout the franchise would matter, the game's ending ultimately boiled down to "pick a colour, any colour."

But given how terrific the first and especially the second game were, fans were understandably willing to consider that Mass Effect 3 may have been an unfortunate blip from BioWare and nothing more.

When EA announced the fourth game, Mass Effect: Andromeda, they devoted much of the game's PR cycle to assuring fans that the team had listened to player complaints about Mass Effect 3, and effectively implied the game would be an apology-of-sorts for their prior misstep.

Fans desperate for a huge-budget AAA sci-fi adventure happily took EA at their word - always a foolish choice - until they played the game for themselves and discovered it was far more of a systemic, ground-up failure than Mass Effect 3.

From the game's sub-par facial animations to its array of glitches, boring plot, and repetitive gameplay loop, there just wasn't enough there to support the solid central shooting mechanics nor the oft-impressive visuals.

But considering that EA made the first 10 hours of the game available to players on EA Access and Origin Access a week before Andromeda actually came out, fans had plenty of time to realise that they were better off grabbing the game in a deep sale instead.
