10 Times You HATED Yourself For Buying A Video Game
5. WWE 2K20
It's no secret that wrestling fans have a love-hate relationship with the officially licensed WWE games, and that's never been truer than with the recent run of titles published by 2K Sports.
The WWE 2K games have received wildly mixed reviews from critics and players alike over the years, largely criticising the embarrassing abundance of bugs, disappointing visual presentation, terrible online multiplayer, and inexplicably missing features.
But with the announcement that WWE 2K20 would be developed solely by Visual Concepts rather than regular lead team Yuke's, fans wondered whether or not the outfit might be able to breathe some fresh air into the annual franchise.
Yet in a result that fans absolutely should've anticipated, 2K20 was ultimately widely panned by most critics for almost every aspect of its gameplay and visuals, suggesting that Visual Concepts wasn't yet ready to produce a WWE game entirely by themselves.
But just as WWE fans keep coming back to the wonky main product month after month, many nevertheless gave their money to 2K simply to have a new WWE game to play, because apparently a turd sandwich is better than no sandwich.
Thankfully the game was a commercial disappointment for 2K regardless, and due to present global circumstances, WWE 2K21 has reportedly been cancelled, hopefully giving the dev team a longer lead time to make a quality WWE 2K22.
But knowing the series' track record, you should absolutely, 1000% wait for reviews before giving 2K your money again.
