10 Times You Were An Utter Dick To NPCs

1. Living Only To Die - The Sims

Sims 2 Pool Death
Electronic Arts

The Sims is probably best described as playing with dolls, but electronically. You create one or more additions to the existing digital neighbourhood, move them into a building and help guide them through life - practicing skills, enjoying hobbies, building a career and fostering relationships. It can be many things from wish fulfillment to simply a way to pass the time.

On the other end entirely though, of course, it can become perhaps the darkest and most twisted game out there. After all, there's something unsettling about taking usually well-meaning, upbeat Sims and putting them through hell... and yet, let's face it, we've all done it.

It can be something as simple as removing the ladder from the pool so that exhausted Sims drown to trapping them in a room with nothing but roaring fireplaces and wood chairs and waiting for the inevitable.

Of course, there's a meta conversation to be had about whether the Sims you're controlling are playable characters or not, but all the same, nothing is stopping you from murdering those who just so happen to wander onto your lot.

The repair man came to fix the coffee machine and instead found themselves in a Simlish horror movie - trapped in a room with no doors with four other sims, nowhere to sleep or pee, and an unjust God by the name of "player".
