Baldur's Gate 3 has a knack for surprising you with the consequences of your actions, but what you may not realize is that it does the same when you don't do anything, too!

In fact, the consequences of laziness can get pretty lethal!

Usually, when a party member dies, the game doesn't really rush you to resurrect them. However, in the case of Gale, you get a special side quest that urges you to bring him back to life as quickly as possible and even provides you with a free but pretty convoluted method of getting a Scroll of True Resurrection.

Unless you've already discovered Gale's curse, the game doesn't inform you why it's important to revive Gale so quickly, which is why you might decide to ignore the warning and see what happens.

At first, his death won't seem to impact anything, but if you ignore him for three days, Gale's body will turn into a magical nuke and blow up the entire map, leading to an instant game over.

This can be especially dangerous when you play in honor mode and want to preserve your scrolls of resurrection at all costs. If you get too stingy with Gale, his unstable corpse can cost your entire run.
