5. The Peter Parker Redesign - Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered
Fans of Insomniac Games' Spider-Man rejoiced when they announced that a remaster was on the way for the PS5, only to get a rather unpleasant surprise when it was actually released.
As gorgeous as the game looks in shiny 4K on PS5, many expressed irritation at the developer's decision to change Peter Parker's face model from John Bubniak to Ben Jordan.
The official party line from Insomniac is that they wanted a model whose facial structure more closely resembled Peter's voice actor Yuri Lowenthal, as this would make it easier to sync the voice work with the facial capture.
That wasn't really good enough for many fans, who were irked that the original Peter had been given a sudden, distracting design change.
Some even went as far as to suggest that this was done to make Peter more closely resemble Tom Holland's MCU Spider-Man, which he certainly does.
Whatever the true motivation, it was a minor-major bone of contention for many revisiting the game on PS5, and with the redesign carrying over into Peter's supporting role in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, it was a sticking point there too.
