3. Red Dead Redemption 2 - Some Very Well-Endowed Horses
On its release, Red Dead Redemption 2 was one of the most impressive open-world titles yet. The scope of the world, the sheer wealth of things to do, the detail and authenticity … there hadn’t really been anything like it.
Detail, above and beyond anything else, was clearly a priority for Rockstar. Every inch of the length and breadth of the map was lovingly realized, right down to the testicles on the horses.
The true essence of meticulousness is lavishing time on an area that few would really pay much attention to. In this area, Rockstar absolutely excelled.
In a Kotaku preview from September 2018, Stephen Totilo marvels at things like Arthur Morgan gaining or losing weight depending on how often the player eats. Even more than that, Rockstar confirmed that horses’ testicles are affected by the cold as they would be in real life.
It’s not really an anatomic part to dwell on too much, but you’ve got to admire the dedication.
