10 Totally Impractical Video Game Weapons

4. Boomerang - The Legend Of Zelda Franchise

The Legend of Zelda is the series that introduced the Master Sword, possibly the most iconic video game weapon of all time, and a fantastic piece of design; elegant, timeless and, above all, practical. Basically, everything that a boomerang is not. At this point, a lot of people would argue that the boomerang is a time-honoured hunting weapon, originally used by Australian Aboriginals tens thousands of years ago - and it's true, a properly thrown boomerang is more than capable of taking out small prey. However, for taking out legions of enemies, it would be almost totally useless. If you hit a rampaging Moblin with your boomerang, they'd probably notice; hit them in the right place hard enough, and it might even knock them out. It's not exactly the deadliest weapon at Link's disposal though. Even more damning, is that if a boomerang hits something, it's not gonna come back to you. The boomerang might be fine for a one-shot, last resort kind of deal. But if Link has to run back and forth picking a bent stick up every time he throws it, then he might as well stop beating around the bush and unsheathe the real weaponry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRvJ6ZasXeU
