10 Totally Pointless Gaming Accessories

4. ASG Video Jukebox

Here's a maddenningly pointless peripheral that is clearly designed with a very specific type of gamer in mind - a) one who has far too much money and b) one who is extremely, extremely lazy. ASG's Video Jukebox basically allowed you to place six different Mega Drive games inside its bay, and when connected up to the Mega Drive, allowed you to switch between the games with the simple press of a button, in case you were too lazy to, you know, just swap between games like a normal person. At a reported $50 a pop, it's no surprise it was a massive flop. Hilariously, you could also run 6 of them in series if you were demented enough, allowing for 36 games to be hooked up at once, each available at the press of a button, once you've been to the hospital to fix the broken leg you've suffered from tripping over all of these wires. So, for $300, you can play 36 games you already own. How's about spending that $300 on some more games, instead, and stop being such a couch potato? This is one of the most cynical and misguided game-related products I have ever seen.
