Acclaim

CIA Agent Sydney Bristow reporting for a serious dressing down – ironic when this game was principally about dressing up. J.J. Abrams’ primetime espionage series netted a ludicrous number of viewers in America despite never being a huge hit and, of course, this led to the inevitable video game.

The game could’ve been a brilliant mix of Splinter Cell and Hitman but instead it resulted in a gaudy fashion show that was virtually uncontrollable. Sydey was incapable of moving stealthily in any way, making the sneak sections of the game impossible without lotto winning levels of luck - a stealth game with no real stealth function: awful.

Acclaim were a bona fide class act in their time. However, picking up the tie in for Alias was a sizable nail in their coffin and they are now defunct – small wonder.
