Now, before we consign the World War Z video game to the burning tire fire of hopeless film-to-game adaptation failures, it’s important to note that the zombies depicted in the World War Z universe just so happen to be some of the most terrifying we’ve seen.

That means potential for gaming greatness.

Paramount and Saber Interactive announced the game at 2017's The Game Awards, confirming a four-player co-operative title in missions set around the globe as you look to quell the almost literal tsunami of undead ravagers coming your way.

Developer Saber have previously had a hand in crafting shooting titles like Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Quake Champions, Inversion and Timeshift, and while a movie spin-off such as this is bound to pick up speed ahead of a rumoured World War Z sequel, it remains a lurker at present.
