10 Underrated Recent Video Games That Deserve A Second Chance

6. Firewatch

Firewatch 2
Campo Santo

"Walking simulators" as they're derisively labelled, tend to get a bad rap regardless of how many positive opinions are flying around the ether. For Firewatch especially, its endgame plot twist is one that's supposed to play on the notion of exploration and isolation to upend your expectations, acknowledging that sometimes, you just need to get away from other people, and the challenges that come alongside that.

For whatever reason, it doesn't get championed like that of Gone Home, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture or even SOMA, but that doesn't make Campo Santo's phenomenal little gem any less affecting.

If any part of you likes something other than the most straightforward, blockbuster action for your dose of daily entertainment, give it a shot.
