10 Underrated Video Games Nobody Appreciated In Their Time

8. Psi-Ops' Phenomenal Physics Sandbox Gameplay

Developed by the criminally underrated Midway Games, on the surface Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy looks like any other shooter from the early 2000s.

However, its early adoption of ragdoll physics and upgradable psychic powers that let you interact with enemies and the world in exciting ways marked it out as something special.

Releasing a few months before Half-Life 2, the game was actually first out the gate when it came to physics-based puzzles and combat. The wide array of abilities on display encouraged a sense of interaction with the world that few other games - especially shooters - encouraged at the time, but it might have been that forward thinking (as well Valve's immensely popular release) that killed the title before it had a chance to blossom.

Also, the name probably didn't help either.
