10 Underused Pokémon You're TOTALLY Wrong About

7. Magikarp

We all knew it was coming, you can’t write an underrated Pokémon list without the underrated Pokémon.

Nobody wants a Magikarp, and in the older games (before the XP share mechanics) it was a pain to have to swap this pointless poisson back and forth to gain the adequate XP for its inevitable glow up.

However, before evolving, Magikarp can still dominate the battlefield.

Starting a battle with moves that raise attack and speed, spamming them and then using the move Baton Pass before switching to Magikarp, is a great strategy for creating an unstoppable monster.

Magikarp will take the first hit, but assuming it's holding a Focus Sash, its HP will stop depleting at 1. The earlier use of Baton Pass gives Magikarp a huge boost in speed, giving it the first hit against every Pokémon it faces.

Using the move Flail (which is more powerful, the lower the users health is) will one-shot every opponent. This strategy is foolproof, making Magikarp the true king of the sea (sorry, Seaking).
