10 Underused Video Game Characters You Fell In Love With

4. N - Pokémon Black And White

If you've been a part of the Pokemon fandom for any serious length of time, then you know by now the tired old criticism that the world of Pokemon is basically the best advertisement for the legalization of dog fighting ever conceived. Most Pokemon fans accept this but understandably label that under the "don't be a party pooping edgelord" category alongside "hey why didn't the Empire just blow up Yavin instead of going around it?"

Probably why N was so effective when he first hit the scene, and why we're still talking about him to this day.

N is by far one of - if not the best - villain in the entire Pokemon canon. Not steep competition I know, but still. And the reasons is simply because he looks the player in the eye and forces them to confront this often ignored criticism of the universe in a way they can't ignore.

Not only that, but the story doesn't completely denounce him as being insane, unlike his abusive father and leader of Team Galactic, who was just in it for the power, while N genuinely believed that he was in the right the whole time.

Interacting with N was fascinating to experience, as was watching him develop over the course of the game. Like Ulysses, his story officially being over means that we won't likely see him again. But he left one hell of an impact while he was here, and that's good enough.
