10 Upcoming Horror Video Games You Need To Know About

6. Moons Of Madness

Sticking with the Lovecraftian theme, we have Moons Of Madness. Set on Mars, players incarnate an astronaut named Shane Newehart who starts noticing some unexplained phenomena occurring around his base.

The game's developers, Rock Pocket Games, have set their sights high with this one, aiming to mix cosmic horror, space simulation, and a thought-provoking look at mental health altogether in one big melting pot. The game is marketed as 'The Martian meets Lovecraft', and that's an idea we can all get behind.

Rock Pocket Games really seems to be going all in on this game, speaking to scientists to make sure that the space-sim aspects of Moons Of Madness are true-to-life, while also attempting to make a statement about psychological health issues without overstepping the line. Time will tell if they manage to pull it off, but the footage we've seen so far is promising, showing a mixture of environmental puzzles, eerie locations to explore, and unexpected scary scenes.
