5. The Matrix Awakens
If you've got a PS5 or a Series X/S and were wondering when the next gen was going to arrive - well, here it is!
Made in collaboration with The Matrix: Resurrections, Awakens is designed to be a complete showcase of what Unreal Engine 5 can do and how it makes an exciting future for gaming.
If you've tried it, you'll no doubt of been absolutely blown away as the game seemed to be presenting to you actual real-life, photorealistic footage...and then let you play it.
It looked phenomenal, and within minutes of people playing it, the internet was awash with people demanding it to be expanded into a full game set in the Matrix universe.
There's no 100% confirmation that this is happening yet, but several mentions of additional content have come from one of Awakens' creators, Kim Libreri, suggesting that "players will be able to do more like maybe fly or fight", getting us closer to a fully-fledged new Matrix experience.
(Honestly, many of us would be more than happy with a remake of Path of Neo or Enter the Matrix on modern technology, for the time being!)
