9. Resogun (PS4 - Nov 15)
Resogun is not going to give the PS4 a technical workout, that's for sure,
but what it lacks in boundary-pushing visuals, it might more than compensate for with its stylistic audacity and intense level of gameplay. Housemarque's Resogun is a spiritual follow-up to the widely-acclaimed PSN game Super Stardust HD, and as will surely get everyone playing it, it's part of the PlayStation Plus' Instant Game Collection, available free for all PS+ members at the PS4's launch. Running at 60 frames per second and full 1080p, Resogun is absolutely dripping with style, and as you can see from the above screenshot, is an extremely frantic, busy game. It might not be able to measure up to Call of Duty on a number of areas - online experience being key - but play-testers credit its addictive, old-school gameplay and out-of-the-box accessibility as likely to make it a big hit on the PS4. Could this be enough to distract us (if only temporarily) from the latest that CoD has to offer? Sometimes the old ways are the best, so I wouldn't be surprised...
