10 Upcoming Video Game Movies That Could Actually Be Amazing

The Story: It’s fairly straightforward, some pigs stole eggs from some birds so the birds get angry and decide to get revenge by slingshotting themselves into all of the pigs’ buildings.

Why It Could Be Amazing: In addition to the stupidly-famous product, the movie has assembled a ridiculous amount of voice-acting talent. The three leads are comedy stars Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, and Danny McBride, who are also joined by the likes of Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, and Peter Dinklage in secondary roles.

The creative team is also similarly interesting. Though the directors are first timers, one is a former art director and the other a former animator. Developer Rovio is also involved in making the game happen, and maybe their hands-on approach could help maintain the fun essence of the game. On top of that, the script is being written by longtime Simpsons scribe Jon Vitti.

There’s obviously a good deal of flexibility when it comes to the story. There’s an easy revenge-plot framework but the lack of specifics gives the movie room to surprise and develop, and The Simpsons seems like a good tone to emulate, so hopefully this could surprise people.
