10 Upcoming Video Games Being Sent Out To Die

Despite the popularity of the Saints Row franchise, you'd be forgiven for forgetting that the series' glossy reboot is due for release mere weeks from now.

The reboot was officially unveiled last summer to a mixed response from fans, many expressing frustration at the decision to deviate from the style and tone of the previous games, opting for a more reined-in, less-wacky vibe.

Nevertheless, the core gameplay looks solidly fun, and considering that this summer isn't exactly filled to the brim with AAA action-adventure games, in theory it feels like Saints Row should have an easy path to success.

And yet, the low-key marketing campaign suggests that publisher Deep Silver isn't particularly hopeful for its chances.

When a game is this close to release, the hype cycle really needs to be hitting overdrive, and yet it feels like barely anybody outside of the die-hard fans is talking about Saints Row, let alone knows that it's coming out soon.

Sure, the game could pick up sales traction if it reviews well and catches on with streamers, but it's far more likely going to come and go without making much impact, sadly.
