10 Upcoming Video Games That Could Change Things Forever

4. Titanfall

Titanfall Titanfall - coming from Respawn Entertainment - in some ways looks a little bit derivative - giant mechs, jet packs and erm... guns aren't exactly new things to gaming. But Respawn Entertainment contain more than a few of the key members of the team that brought us Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - if there's one thing they know, it's how to make multi-player first-person shooting compelling. While Call of Duty: Ghosts wasn't a flop by any means, there are more than a few murmurs that the COD games aren't really going anywhere. The mechanics of leveling and outfitting your soldier with various perks and kill-streak rewards are tinkered with year after year, but the experience remains largely the same. Introducing new ideas to the fast-paced gun-play could be what's needed to give the genre a shot in the arm. Perhaps Titanfall's summoned mega-death robots and vertical game-play that sees you deftly manoeuvring through the skies will be just what's needed. How can this change gaming then? If Respawn Entertainment can conjure up another billion dollar franchise, then we can expect a slew of imitators to appear. While it's premature to suggest that Titanfall is the Call of Duty Killer, for those clamoring for something new, it's an enticing prospect.
