10 Upcoming Video Games That Are Already Doomed

8. Crazy Taxi Reboot

Borderlands 4
Sega

There was much initial excitement when Sega announced that a new Crazy Taxi game was in development in 2023, given that more than 20 years have passed since the last full-fat entry into the cult classic racing franchise.

But last year, word got out that the new Crazy Taxi is being designed as a AAA open-world multiplayer game, which instantly left many fans feeling deflated and skeptical about the project.

After all, Crazy Taxi became popular due to its brilliant simplicity, and trying to reinvent it as a presumably live service blockbuster title sounds like Sega trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

This isn't to say that Crazy Taxi can't work as an experience akin to, say, Burnout Paradise, but the odds are certainly stacked deep that Sega are biting off more than they can chew with this one.

Nobody who loved the earlier games was asking for Crazy Taxi to become a large-scale multiplayer behemoth.
